What “Underground” Really Means on a 24/7 Stream

“Underground” gets misused until it means nothing. On 313 LIVE, it still means something specific: music chosen for depth, not metrics. Artists rewarded for risk. Programming that trusts the listener to meet it halfway.

A 24/7 stream can easily become wallpaper. The underground mandate is the opposite — stay awake, stay sharp, stay Detroit. That’s the station’s job. Your job is to listen like it matters.

Keep the stream on at 313 LIVE — techno, house, and underground from Detroit, 24/7. Studio 13 plays round the clock, plus Door Policy with Duchess Amari (weekdays 7–9 AM ET) and The Lodge Run with Ellis Lane (weekdays 5–7 PM ET): see the schedule, and dig more stories on the blog.
