Women Who Built Detroit Electronic Music

Detroit electronic history is incomplete without the women who engineered, performed, and evangelized the sound. Figures like Kelli Hand (K-Hand) and generations of DJs, producers, and organizers built rooms, labels, and legends.

On 313 LIVE, their records and influence still move the air. Seek the names. Share the history. The future of the culture depends on telling the whole story.

Keep the stream on at 313 LIVE — techno, house, and underground from Detroit, 24/7. Studio 13 plays round the clock, plus Door Policy with Duchess Amari (weekdays 7–9 AM ET) and The Lodge Run with Ellis Lane (weekdays 5–7 PM ET): see the schedule, and dig more stories on the blog.
